The 82.4km long Cangjiang River also named as Gaoming River, runs through the whole district, flowing across Heshui, Genglou, Mingcheng, Yangmei, Renhe these towns and Sanzhou, Xian, Hecheng streets, and pours into Xijiang River besides Haikou Tower. Flowing along the edge of Fuwan and Hecheng, Xijiang River’s coastline is 17.5km long. There are more than 20 ports and ducks in Gaoming District with throughput of 400,000 tons per year. There are ferries to Guangzhou, Zhaoqing, Wuzhou, Hongkong, Macau and other cities along Xijiang River. The highway network in Gaoming Distirct is composed of three vertical lines (i.e. Lianjin Highway, Zhaozhu Highway and Gaotong Highway) and one horizontal line (Guanggao Highway). Moreover, the standard concrete roads run through the whole district. At present, the main projects of highways and bridges under construction are: Gaoming Bridge Extentending Project, Gaoming Avenue (part of Guanggao highway) Rebuilding Project, Duichuan-Jingwei Road (part of Guanggao highway) Rebuilding Project, Hefu Road Extending Project etc.
